program
The 2003 Ideas at the Powerhouse program was built on the success
of the inaugural event in 2001, presenting provocative ideas from
the broadest range of speakers and responding to new issues and
new ideas.
The dynamic, accessible program offered interactive and unique
encounters and experiences for diverse audiences. Ideas at the
Powerhouse was comprised of four major elements: Ideas
speakers; the Ideas Bazaar; Ideas
Online and Kids Ideas.
Ideas speakers
The four-day program featured over 50 leading national and international
speakers and commentators
presenting their ideas for the future. Ideas Sessions included
panels, lectures, discussions and debates.
Ideas Bazaar
The Ideas Bazaar was a marketplace
of ideas, innovation and invention. For the four days of the festival
the Ideas Bazaar presented demonstrations,
exhibitions, performances, soapbox sessions and installations providing
real samples of ideas and innovation in action.
Kids Ideas
The Kids Ideas program was devised
to directly relate to the content and topics of the Ideas speakers
and encourages 4 – 8 year
olds to think about ideas, to discuss and generate ideas and to
create new ideas. Kids Ideas reflected the Ideas at the Powerhouse
belief that everyone has ideas and that everyone has ideas about
ideas.
Ideas Online
Ideas Online
was
the online element of the Ideas Festival. Ideas online included:
full biographical details on ideas speakers, past papers and research
documents of ideas speakers, suggested links for further reading,
ideas questions and answers, event information and an archive of
event sessions.
