Australian Inventions
From the very old pre-European colonisation inventions by the native
Aborigines, to agricultural inventions, to the high-tech, domestic and
medical innovations, Australia has come far from the traditional
Boomerang to the Scramjet of the 21st century. For centuries even before
the Europeans first set foot in the Land Down Under, the true
native inhabitants of this land have proven strong and true to be
innovative and practical inventors. Yet fickle as we know time is,
various factors such as colonisers, agricultural and technological
advances, economic, cultural and social demands have pushed the
Australian people and it’s most accomplished thinkers and inventors to
tinker with fate and machinery to come up with some of the world’s most
prized and treasured inventions that we can hardly live without today.
Surely, without these Australian inventions, we probably would not have
the comforts and the ease of doing work that we have today. Had the
Aborigines not invented their hunting tools, we would not have learned
new techniques from their genius. If the Australians had not pioneered
the first ideas of their inventions, the world would have much less to
get by with today. Here is but a glimpse at the true ingenious
Australia.
